The world needs more nurses — and Merrimack is delivering. In 2019, the College welcomed its first freshman class of nursing students to campus. To support the program and its students, Merrimack opened the Nursing Center in January 2020. The two floors of modern labs, classrooms, study space and faculty offices include:
- High fidelity simulation manikins
- Six state-of-the-art simulation labs
- Advanced clinical equipment, such as IV pumps, hospital beds, and oxygen flow meters
- A cutting-edge medication administration system
Merrimack’s nursing students practice their skills and clinical reasoning on high-tech manikins. The manikins transmit “patient” data that helps the students see how they’re doing as caregivers in real-time.
