What’s that maze between Austin Hall and Cushing? It’s the Merrimack labyrinth! In Christian tradition, labyrinths facilitate a walking meditation meant to bring one closer to God. Unlike a maze, there are no decisions to be made in a labyrinth except to follow the winding path to the center.
As you walk along the winding path, look for crosses embedded in the pattern.
At the center, you’ll find the following inscription:
“Be of One Mind and Heart Intent Upon God” ~St. Augustine
